Before it really starts, a few
words to the scene: Innset is a small village in the municipality of Bardu, Troms region. Innset is surrounded by many mountains that are up to 700m higher than the village. Far and wide nothing than nature - a paradise.
The Huskyfarm Innset is located in the mountains between Norway and Sweden, 35 km from the next town Setermoen at lake Veslevatn. In former times the Huskyfarm had been a small sheep farm. Now there live about 80 huskies with their two-legged-employees.
Björn Klauer took over the sheep farm in 1988 and in the past almost 30 years he built up and increased the husky farm. His wife, Regina Elpers, fell in love not only with the dogs and the farm during a sled dog tour many, many years ago…
For quite a long time Björn and Regina guided the demanding sled dog tours and managed life and holidays on the farm all alone. Of course, the well-being of the dogs comes first always. They care with love for tour dogs, puppies and oldies. But also the guests are spoiled tenderly, e.g. with self-baked bread, self-made meat or berries and mushrooms picked in the neighbourhood.
The tours of Björn and Regina enjoy an excellent reputation. No wonder, every tour is customised to the individual needs of the group. And with two national parks right in front of the farm you can’t find a better place for sled dog tours without disturbing snow mobile noise.
We are happy to be part of the team and to take care for dogs and guests in this beautiful landscape.
